About me

I am a ‘reformed’ cognitive neuroscientist, with a PhD gained by scanning people’s brains to see what areas light up when they do certain tasks. While this produced several nice publications and it’s cool to be able to put Dr in front of my name, I realised as I progressed that this was not what I wanted to be doing with the rest of my life. My dream may be to get my fiction published, but I would also love to work as an editor in book publishing. After several steps in the right direction, including work as a proofreader and non-fiction sub-editor, I am now working as an online non-fiction writer. While this is somewhat removed from my goal of becoming a fiction editor (which is nigh impossible if you don’t want to live in London or New York), it’s certainly nice to be paid to write. As for my own fiction writing, it’s mainly (urban) fantasy, but I also dabble in science and general fiction. That’s all you’re getting out of me.

Feel free to comment if you want to know more, or if you would like me to beta-read/professionally sub-edit your work.
