I am a ‘reformed’ cognitive neuroscientist, with a PhD gained by scanning people’s brains to see what areas light up when they do certain tasks. While this produced several nice publications and it’s cool to be able to put Dr in front of my name, I realised as I progressed that this was not what I wanted to be doing with the rest of my life. While my ultimate dream is to publish fiction and become a paid author, I am currently working as a magazine sub-editor, and would love to climb up the ranks and become a fiction editor at some point, though I’m not sure how (well) a career as both and editor and a writer will work out. As for my writing, it’s mainly fantasy, but I also dabble in science and general fiction. That’s all you’re getting out of me. Feel free to comment if you want to know more.
